How Well Do You Know Belize?
Did you know that Belize was named British Honduras until finally 1971? (I didn’t even know it was ever British. Is there anywhere these Brits didn’t at least attempt to consider more than at some point in time?) Well now it’s residence to some 300,000 men and women with British, African, and indigenous descent, as properly as some of the world’s greatest coral for snorkeling and beaches for, well, sleeping.
But there’s a powerful case to be made to not devote all your time lounging about on the Caribbean coast, and as an alternative head inland to see this uniquely diverse country, with its reggae/african/latin musical tradition, exclusive towns, and huge Mayan ruins that will have you thinking, man, those Mayans had been terrific at ruins.
